Max is another pinball wizard, friend of Peace.
I am surprised Peace did not win the whole thing. He exhibited some of the finest in poker skills last night. He bet 200, then called additional 1000 all in with A, 5 offsuit and beat AK. Then against me, he completely mucked his hand, then was allowed to pull his cards back out of the middle of the table and caught miracle trip 8s with his 8, 2 offsuit to beat my pocket Kings. He also said "I call, I'm all in." Who is teaching this guy poker? He was winning some big pots. I want lessons from this guy.
Maybe next time I will try something like that. "I'm all in. I call". So it's the first or the second thing you say that is binding? Or neither? And I can't wait to start taking advantage of the Wednesday night rule allowing you to pull your cards out of the muck. Nice. |

Reply with quote | #5 | Yea that was terrible.
I didn't see him mucking his cards then taking them back,
but I did hear what was going on.. It was one of the players to his right that said "hey your the big blind, don't fold." or something to that effect.
And I was the victim of that when I had AK to his A5 and he left
me crippled. If it weren't for that beat, your KK would had gotten
more favorable action.

Reply with quote | #6 | i wasn't at the table for that either, was it as the action was on him or was it well beforehand as the action was on, say, the player UTG or UTG+1? it it was with action right on him it should have been a definite fold, if it was when the action was far in front, since we play friendly and in an altered state of mind a lot of the time, generally people get to take those mistakes back as long as the cards don't hit the actual muck... i benefit from my weak-armed barely paying attention folds in the big blind from time to time, so i can't really criticize if that was the case. however, if it was on him or if the cards actually went into the muck (aka the pile of other folded cards) then it shouldn't have been allowed in my humble opinion. __________________ "i drank what?" - socrates

Reply with quote | #7 | updated standings, added a few new categories for historical context now that we've been running standings almost two years and since we have so many varied returning players. it should be noted that 2008's scoring system was slightly tweaked coming into 2009, hence the higher point totals in 08...

Actually, I think I have most career wins, even though I have only been playing for just over 1 year (started coming last September).
Of course anyone starting to play this year (or only parts of the 2 years) is at a disadvantage. Also, players were awarded points for their own buy-in last year, making the totals somewhat higher for 2008.
But even still, I have — most career cups of coffee. — most career misread hands.
And that which I am most proud: — highest career batting average with runners in scoring position.
